Mike Brazile is currently a senior training specialist at Los Alamos National Laboratory where he develops and implements training and qualification programs in support of engineering operations and where he also is part of an informal “training triage team.” This “training triage team” uses a variation of the Japanese manufacturing industry’s continuous improvement process called “Kaizen" to identify a process improvement goal and, using SME workers, to execute, in a week or less, a project improvement plan that shows immediate results in achieving the process improvement goal identified. Called “Fast Track,” a short term improvement goal is identified. Mike leads a small team that quickly plans, executes, and delivers the required short term improvement goal in two weeks or less. Mike has used Fast Track to improve manufacturing cell operations, developed a new employee performance process and form, developed classroom and On-the-Job Training courses, qualification standards and processes, and needed technical procedures, all in two weeks or less.
Mike has worked in both leadership and team member roles in developing programs to help organization members acquire the needed skills to help the organization move forward and for team members to grow through assignments in training, human resources, and organization development. He has worked for medium to large-size organizations, including Fortune 500 corporations, specializing in manufacturing operations and in finance and call center operations for over 25 years. Mike served in the U.S. Army in both active duty and National Guard assignments for almost ten years in the field artillery, Special Forces, and Airborne Infantry. His career in the military included attaining the ranks of sergeant and infantry officer where he served in operations, as an NCO academy instructor, and as an instructor including small arms weapons training, leadership development, and small unit tactics. He has masters’ degrees in Adult Education and Human Resource Management and likes to fly fish, go four wheeling in his Jeep, and whatever his wife of 36 years “asks” him to do.
